Visiting artist, Autumn Johnson, will be teaching a copper etching course this July where participants will learn to make their own strange chimera creature using hard ground etching and aquatint. Each participant will draw their own creature, etch it with hard ground, add value with aquatint, and then print an edition of their creature to take home. No previous etching experience is required, but some drawing experience is preferred. Course fee will be $200 which will cover the cost of plates, paper, hard ground, inks, etc.
This will be a three week course that will meet on Sundays in July from 10am-1pm on 7/12, 7/19, and 7/26.
