What’s in Our Print Shop?

At Spit Bite Studios, we try our very best to accommodate creatives and printmakers of all experience levels. As of today, this is what our studio has to offer:

• Charles Brand Etching Press with an 18”x 36” press bed

• American Sign Proofing Letterpress with a 15”x 27” press bed

• Screen printing hinge tables to fit screens up to 23”x 31”

• Two 31”x 63” general work tables

• One 34”x 43” light table

• One vertical ferric chloride etching tank that fits plates up to 18”x 24” (copper plates only!)

• 24”x 24” glass slabs for ink mixing

• 24”x 24” mop sink for rinsing screens

• Two hand washing sinks

• Squeegees ranging in sizes from 6”-16”

• Brayers, palette knives, tape, mineral spirits, Simple Green, newsprint, rags, gloves, spatulas, screen filler*, drawing fluid, and other consumables

• Relief, etching, letterpress, and screen printing inks

• One 27”x 24” paper soaking tray

• 36” tear bar and rulers

*As of now we can only do autographic screen printing techniques: screen filler, drawing fluid, paper stencils, etc. With time we hope to get an exposure unit for photographic techniques!
