Come make your very own plant plushie with us during the month of September! In this course you’ll learn how to construct and screenprint a pattern for a stuffed plant, print that pattern onto fabric, and then sew and stuff it into your own creation! By the end, each individual will have their own unique plant and pattern, if they choose to craft more on their own time. No previous screenprinting or sewing experience is required, but some knowledge is preferred. Fees for this course are $350 and will include the fabric, ink, transparencies, sewing materials, drawing materials, etc. Participants are only required to bring a sketchbook.
This class will meet on Sundays for six weeks from 10am- 1pm on 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, and 10/11. Here is a breakdown of the course:
Week 1: Introduction to screenprinting and pattern making. We’ll discuss drawing designs, making transparencies, and exposing them into screens
Week 2: Printing onto the fabric and cutting and constructing the patterns
Week 3: Sewing and stuffing the pattern to craft the plants
Weeks 4, 5, and 6: Work days- assisting everyone with their printing, sewing, and construction
