Come make a 3-4 color reduction screenprint with us this fall! Reduction printing is a painterly way to create screenprints using one stencil and reducing that stencil with screen filler for each layer. Layers will be printed from lightest to darkest. Participants will learn how to use screen filler to make a design of their choosing and to print that design in multiple colors. We will go over screenprinting basics such as how to paint screen filler into your screen, select the correct colors for reduction printing, and how to register and print your design. No previous screenprinting experience is necessary, but some drawing and painting experience is preferred!
This class will take place Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:30pm on 10/16, 10/23, and 10/30. All materials will be provided including screens, screen filler, ink, squeegees, paper, newsprint, etc. Participants should bring a sketchbook and pencils for drawing their designs.
