Intermediate/ Advanced Intaglio
If you’re looking to expand your intaglio skills beyond basic line etching and aquatint, then this is the class for you! This class will cover more in-depth intaglio printmaking techniques such as soft ground, spit bite, chine colle, a la poupee (and other multi-color methods), and combining techniques such as mezzotint and etching, or monotype and etching together. Participants are encouraged to explore and test out unfamiliar techniques and to create editions with variations that expand outside the box of traditional printmaking. The “Beginner Etching” workshop is a requirement for this course! By the end of the workshop, each participant will be able to take home an edition of unique prints and their copper plates.
This class will run on Sundays in August from 10am-1pm on 8/3, 8/10, 8/17, and 8/24. While enrolled in the course, participants will also be able to come to open studio hours at no additional cost!
The course fee is $200 which will cover the cost of copper plates, tools, grounds, inks, paper, newsprint, cleaning supplies, and other consumables. Participants do not need to bring their own supplies besides a sketchbook and some ideas!
